Casa Zé Paulino is one of the oldest traditional shops in the town of Odemira. Opened in 1958 by José Domingos Leonardo, it is run today by his sons, brothers Manuel and José Paulino, who grew up behind the counter. You'll find a little of everything here - clothing, accessories, footwear, home textiles, and traditional items such as botas alentejanas (the region's traditional boots), berets, hats, and straw bags - but what truly sets this shop apart is the service: attentive, with time for a conversation, and relationships built over decades with the people who come through the door.
